COUNT
Count of numeric values in cells, ranges, or data fields. Non-numeric values (text, blanks, errors) are ignored.
Function syntax
COUNT(input1, ...)Arguments:
- input1, …: One or more numbers, cells, ranges, or data fields.
Examples
- COUNT(A1:A5) - If A1:A5 contains
10,"hello",20, blank,5, returns3. Text and blanks are ignored. - COUNT(A1:A4) - If A1:A4 contains
10,20,10,30, returns4. Both10s are counted. - COUNT(revenue{}) - Count of values in the (numeric) revenue field. Blanks are not counted.
- COUNT(revenue{continent{“Asia”}}) - Count of values in the revenue field where continent is Asia.
- COUNT(revenue{}, C10:E15) - Count of numeric values across the revenue field and the range C10:E15 combined.
