AVERAGE_DATE

Average of date values in cells, ranges, or data fields. Non-date values (text, numbers, blanks, errors) are ignored.

Function syntax

AVERAGE_DATE(input1, ...)

Arguments:

  • input1, …: One or more dates, cells, ranges, or data fields.

Examples

  • AVERAGE_DATE(A1:A3) - If A1:A3 contains 1/1/24, 1/15/24, 1/29/24, returns 1/15/24.
  • AVERAGE_DATE(order_date{}) - Average of all values in the order_date field.
  • AVERAGE_DATE(ship_date{region{“West”}}) - Average of ship_date values where region is West.
  • AVERAGE_DATE(order_date{}, A1:A10) - Average date across the order_date field and cells A1:A10 combined.
  • AVERAGE_DATE(A1:A4) - If A1:A4 contains 1/10/24, 1/20/24, pending, 1/30/24, returns 1/20/24. Text is ignored.
