Chart
The Adaptam Chart tab works very much like the Visualizer, but its data source is spreadsheet cell ranges instead of data fields. Once the data ranges are selected, the same chart settings and sidebar options are available.
Overview
The Chart tab lets you:
- Build charts from worksheet ranges
- Choose chart types and data orientation
- Define axis and legend inputs
- Edit titles directly on the chart
- Control labels, legend display, and gridlines from the settings sidebar
Data Setup

The chart data setup sidebar is where you choose the spreadsheet source tab, chart type and select the data input ranges.
- Chart Type — Selects the chart type.
- Data from — Chooses which worksheet provides the source data.
- Data input — Opens the range selector for the chart data.
- First row is legends — Uses the first row as legend labels.
- First column is x axis labels — Uses the first column as X-axis labels.
- Switch rows/columns — Swaps whether rows or columns act as legends and axis labels.
- X axis values — Defines the X-axis input range.
- Legend values — Defines the legend input range.
Selecting all the Data in a single Range
With First row is legends, First column is x axis labels, and Switch rows/columns set, the Data input selector accepts a single range that covers all the data.

Clicking the Data input selector automatically takes you to the sheet previously specified so you can select the range with all the data.

Organizing Rows and Columns
Click the Switch rows/columns check box to flip which side of the data is used for legends versus the X axis.

Any chart can be reduced to a one-dimensional setup by supplying the data input and axis input. For pie charts, the chart uses data input plus legend input instead of an axis input.
Specifying Data Inputs Separately
Instead of using a single range, you can supply the axis and legend inputs separately. This can be done for one or all of the data inputs.
Unclicking First row is legends opens the Legend values selector:

Unclicking First column is x axis labels opens the X axis input selector:

Unclicking both check boxes opens all three inputs so each range can be set explicitly. In this situation the Data input only populates the values for the body of the chart.
