MEDIAN_DATE
Median (middle) date value in cells, ranges, or data fields. Non-date values (text, numbers, blanks/empty cells, Booleans, errors) are ignored.
Function syntax
MEDIAN_DATE(input1, ...)Arguments:
- input1, …: One or more dates, cells, ranges, or data fields.
Examples
- MEDIAN_DATE(A1:A3) - If A1:A3 contains
1/1/24,1/15/24,12/31/24, returns1/15/24- the middle date when sorted, not the mathematical average. - MEDIAN_DATE(order_date{}) - Median of all values in the order_date field.
- MEDIAN_DATE(ship_date{region{“West”}}) - Median of ship_date values where region is West.
- MEDIAN_DATE(order_date{}, A1:A10) - Median date across the order_date field and cells A1:A10 combined.
- MEDIAN_DATE(A1:A4) - If A1:A4 contains
1/1/24,pending,3/1/24,5/1/24, returns3/1/24. Text is ignored; median of three dates. - MEDIAN_DATE(A1:A4) - If A1:A4 contains
1/1/24,2/1/24,3/1/24,4/1/24, returns2/15/24. With even counts, returns the average of the two middle dates.
