AVERAGE

Average of numeric values in cells, ranges, or data fields. Non-numeric values (text, blanks, errors) are ignored.

Function syntax

AVERAGE(input1, ...)

Arguments:

• input1, …: One or more numbers, cells, ranges, or data fields.

Examples

• AVERAGE(C10:E15) - Average of numeric values in C10:E15.
• AVERAGE(revenue{}) - Average of values in the revenue field.
• AVERAGE(revenue{continent{“Asia”}}, cost{country{“France”}}) - Average of revenue where continent is Asia and cost where country is France.
• AVERAGE(A1:A5) - If A1:A5 contains 1, "hello", 2, blank, 3, returns 2. Text and blanks are ignored.
