Visualizer

The Adaptam Visualizer is a charting tab that works directly against your data tables. It uses the same data access, intelligent guides, and formula logic as the Spreadsheet, but presents the results through a chart-focused sidebar that can be shown or hidden as needed.

Overview

The Visualizer lets you:

• Build charts directly from imported datasets
• Work with very large row counts without exporting data
• Choose chart types and calculation types from the sidebar
• Add legends, filters, and sort behavior
• Edit titles and chart settings either on the chart or in the settings sidebar

Data Setup

The visualizer data setup sidebar is where you choose the data source, calculation, and chart structure.

1. Data Table — Lists the available datasets in the current workbook.
2. Chart Type — Selects the chart type.
3. Y inputs calc type — Chooses how the Y values are calculated, such as COUNT, COUNT_UNIQUE, MAX, MIN, SUM, Just value, or Custom.
4. Y inputs field — Selects the field used for the chosen Y calculation.
5. X value inputs — Selects the field used on the X axis.
6. Legend inputs — Adds an optional legend dimension.
7. Filters — Adds one or more field-based filters.
8. Filter value(s) — Lets you choose the values or conditions used by the filter.
9. Sort legend inputs — Sorts the legend values.
10. Sort X value inputs — Sorts the X-axis values.
11. Limit — Limits the number of displayed values.

On-Chart Settings

Several chart labels can be edited directly on the chart.

1. Title — Double-click to replace the chart title.
2. X axis title — Double-click to replace the default X-axis title.
3. Y axis title — Double-click to replace the default Y-axis title.
4. Legend title — Double-click to replace the legend title.

Settings Sidebar

The settings sidebar lets you change chart settings and another way to input titles.

1. Settings — Opens the settings view in the sidebar.
2. Title — Sets the chart title from the sidebar.
3. Y Scale title — Replaces the Y-axis title.
4. Increments — Overrides the automatic Y-axis increments.
5. Location — Moves the Y-axis from left to right.
6. Min — Overrides the Y-axis minimum value.
7. Max — Overrides the Y-axis maximum value.
8. Labels — Turns data labels on or off.
9. Missing data — Chooses how missing data is handled.
10. Legend title — Replaces the default legend heading.
11. Coloring — Changes whether legend colors appear as boxes, labels, or both.
12. X Scale title — Replaces the default X-axis title.
13. Gridlines — Chooses which gridlines are shown.
14. Sidebar toggle — Hides the sidebar when you want more room for the chart.

Hidden Sidebar

1. Sidebar toggle — Reopens the hidden sidebar.
